Satisfy My Appetite

By Leigh Ann Hussey, 1992

One step outside of your door and you stumble right into my lair.
You feel like somebody's watching, but turn to see nobody there.
Don't waste your energy running; its' only a matter of time:
I own the game when I take aim -- you know that you're already mine.
I never miss, and now I've got you in my sights.
Remember this when you're out all alone at night:
you can't deny the hunter's cry to satisfy my appetite.
Don't need an infrared scanner to see that I turn up your heat.
I've laid a snare to entrap you in every crack in the street.
I've got a predator's sense and a hunger not easy to sate.
You're in suspense with no defense until it is suddenly too late.
I never miss, (&c)
That lamp on the corner's my agent;
that cat in the alley's my voice.
By night or by day I'll make you my prey;
you simply don't have any choice.
My eyes are a registered weapon,
my arms are a targeting zone.
Submit to your fate; you won't have to wait
too long 'til I jump on your bones.
You look so tender and succulent, such a mouth-watering snack.
You feel the breath on your shoulder with never a chance to look back.
You feel your blood pressure rising; soon it will rush to your head.
I'm on the scent; I won't relent until I'm sufficiently fed.
I never miss, (&c)
